We want to introduce you to The Palomino and tell you about our family friendly destination.
We came to live in Connah’s Quay in November 2010 and had been really frustrated by the lack of a decent restaurant and pub within walking distance of our home so we decided to take on the challenge of turning our local into something for all the family. After a trip to Lanzarote we had the idea of a wild west themed restaurant - and here it is!!
The Restaurant
Good food cooked with fresh ingredients at realistic prices. An emphasis on family dining in our wild west themed surroundings. Come and dine alongside life size cowboys and indians on horseback. Eat in our stables and even close the doors and have a private family dining experience. You can even hold a corporate lunch for up to 12 people in our stables.
We have 27 tables in a range of groupings and sizes from 2 people upwards. Our two stables each hold 6 adult people or 8 children and can be set out as one stable for up to 12 adults. Groups of 6 people or more are encouraged to book in plenty of time to avoid disappointment.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT BOOKINGS:
BOOKINGS: Thanks to the people who have given us feedback on the booking situation. We have also been discussing this face to face at the Palomino. It seems that overall people do want to be able to book a table so that they know that they have somewhere to eat; particularly at the weekend. With this in mind we will take bookings for any sized party but will ask parties over 5 to pay a deposit of £5.00 per person. The amount will be deducted from the final tab.
When people call us on 01244811122 to book, if we need to take a deposit we will do this by card over the phone or by cash at The Palomino. If the smaller parties do not show then we will let the table after 15 minutes to those who have walked in. For those who have paid a deposit we will let the table after 30 minutes in the case of a no show. If people wish to have a drink in the bar before going into the restaurant to eat then please let our meet & greet staff know that you are with us.
Sorry about all the rules and any confusion but we do want to please as many people as we can and also listen to our customers.
The Saloon Bar
For the grown ups; where you can eat and drink in friendly surroundings. We have a Saloon Bar menu but you can eat in here from the main restaurant menu if you wish. We are opening the Saloon Bar for drinks only from Monday 30th January at 5:00 pm.
Opening Hours
From 3rd February our opening hours will be Monday - Thursday, 12:00 noon to 11:00, Friday - Sunday 12:00 noon to 12:00 midnight.
Outside
We have a state of the art, warm and welcoming smoker’s zone. We have large rigid canopies with glass screens all around to keep the wind away. The canopies are lit up at night and heated. We also have a large field and picnic benches for the warmer weather.
Safe children’s areas
Properly fenced and gated with surveillance from within the Bar & Restaurant we have a children's cavalry fort, a tipi to play in and totem poles, cowboys, indians and life size horses.
